PRACTICE Tutoring

PTA Snack Shack Fundraiser – Wednesday, May 21
The PTA will host a Snack Shack fundraiser on Wednesday, May 21, during all student lunch periods. Children will have the opportunity to buy snacks. Please send your child to school with money in an envelope labeled with your child’s full name and class if they would like to participate. Please make sure the money is safely secured.

We are hosting a Scholastic Book Fair the week of May 19. Please see the schedule below and if you are interested, please send in money in an envelope labeled with your child’s full name and class. Please make sure the money is safely secured.

Family Engagement Week - Tuesday May 20 & Wednesday, May 21
The PS 112Q Dutch Kills Community School is delighted to invite you to our Spring Family Engagement Week! We are celebrating the importance of family engagement in our students ' lives and in their success at school. Join us for two nights filled with family-based activities, refreshments and fun! Parent workshop - Community School Forum – Tuesday, May 20
Our next Parent Workshop on Tuesday, May 20th at 9am, will be a Family Forum, in which we will review programs and initiatives that we are currently providing for our students and families. During the workshop, we will ask parents to complete a short survey on what kind of programs they would like to see in our school community next year. Light refreshments will be served and students of parents who attend will get $25 hawk bucks! Families who attend will enter a raffle to win the following prizes: adult sized bicycle and a movie ticket box! Your support and attendance are greatly appreciated!

Summer Rising - New York City Public Schools
Program Schedule K–5 Summer Rising Academics, social-emotional learning, and enrichment activities for 6 weeks (New York City Public Schools-led academics in the morning followed by extended-day enrichment provided by DYCD CBOs), with a seventh week of DYCD CBO-led enrichment and trips
Important Dates
- July 2, 2025: Summer Rising starts for K-8 students.
- August 15, 2025: Summer Rising ends for elementary school students

Remote Learning Schedule
If our school should have to transition to remote learning, all K-5 students should log into their class’s Google Classroom by 8:10 am on the day of remote learning. A schedule for the day will be provided at that time. Should you have any questions about accessing Google Classroom, please speak to your child’s classroom teacher. Students in 3K and PreK will receive assignments for remote learning from their classroom teachers.
